Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story SNES

OK, here goes my first written review on my new this Blog spot! And to start things off, let's take a look at an old SNES game!

O_O!

NO!

FUCK NO!

*sighs* Believe me, I would be a pleasure to pull that game series apart! But...

I think, I'm pretty much covered on that...

Now, let's get down to real deal and take a look at...

Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story
SNES

This game was based of the movie and was developed by Virgin Interactive, the game was released on many consoles like Atari Jaguar, Sega Genesis, Game Gear, Sega Master System and the Super Nintendo. So yeah, take your pick! But since we've not got time and to be honest, I'm too lazy to compare all of them. We're going to look at the SNES version! Cause... I like the SNES better. Sorry, Sega fans.

Plot: We follow the semi-fictionalized life of the legendary martial artist, Bruce Lee. There is more to plot, but then I'd be telling the movies plot which the game... sort of follows. Just with more fighting then story telling.

It does show like stilled images from the movie and more or less tells some of the story, but most of it really miss-able.

Mainly because if you played the game before watching the movie or didn't know anything about Bruce Lee's life, I think some players can be left confused.

But then again this game, basically fighting game, so I guess they wouldn't of cared and just gone straight into the fighting.

Speaking of the fighting...

OH YEAH! A basic multiplatform beat them up!

BEST
GAME
EVER!

Using a many different martial arts moves and combos to defeat your enemies, 'chi meter' which can help to build up some special moves. The game gets progressively difficult, but not too much to make you want to quit, and you only have three continues. But lose those lives, you then face... The Phantom!

   *sighs*

Not THAT phantom!

I MEANT this guy!

The Phantom is a personification of Bruce's fears and it takes the form of a Japanese Samurai. To be him to continue the game is nearly impossible, but he can be beat! Sadly it wouldn't be the last you'd see of him, he appears later in the game as the final boss and let me tell you... it ain't easy.

There's also you can have two players in the game, so you can battle with your friends and see who the real master is! Sadly, you can only play as Bruce, so the second player will have to play as a cloned Bruce Lee... Wait, that sounds familiar...

*sighs*

Well... fuck!

Anyway...

This game is very fun and enjoyable for anyone to play. It's just a simple basic beat 'em up game, and boy it's great! Although, for me it was weird at times, cause they added a few bits in the game that I don't think were in the movie. Like...

WHO THE FUCK ARE THEY!?

I don't remember them at all in the movie! In fact they ain't in any Bruce Lee movie! I know I'm nitpicking about a little thing, but it was strange for a guy who watched the movie first before playing this, and find out midway through the game that I'd be fighting...

Two muscling woman wearing wrestling gear...

Yeah....

Things got weird rather quickly didn't they?...

I'd recommend this game to anyone, because it's a fun game to play and to me has aged quite well. So, if you've got an SNES and able to find this game, have a try! Cause you might find it as fun as I did.

Thanks for reading guys and I'll see you guys, next time!
